#1: Author Christine Caine stars training program for Christian women
Christine Caine, the speaker, author, and activist out of Australia’s Hillsong Church, will start a training program for Christian women leaders.
“Christian women are on the frontlines with no one supporting them,” she said in an interview with CT. “We’ve got a church that’s already in the world. What are we going to do about it?
#2: Pastors murdered in Nigeria
Two pastors were killed this month in Karshin Daji after an attack on three Nigerian towns.
The pastors were Pastor Ezra Ibrahim of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) was killed and the Rev. Julius Jako of the ECWA. Jako’s wife and daughter were also killed in the attacks.
“Suddenly we heard sounds of gunshots around our village,” an eyewitness said. “The pastor was still in the pastorate when the Muslim Fulani gunmen forced their way onto the church premises. They cut him, his wife, and a daughter with a machete, and then tied the hands and feet of the three of them before setting the house on fire. The three of them were burned to ashes in the living room of the pastorate. We only found the charred remains of the three of them the following morning.”
In total, 31 Christians were killed and 15 others were injured by the Fulani Muslims.
3: Mother of Oklahoma beheading suspect claims he was a Christian.
The mother of an Oklahoma Muslim who is accused of allegedly beheading a woman and stabbing another man says he was raised Christian.
“My son was raised up believing in God. That’s what he believes,” Alton Alexander Nolen’s mother Joyce Nolen said in a video posted to Facebook.
“My heart is just so heavy right now. That’s not my son,” she said. “There is two sides to every story and we are only hearing one.”
Alton Nolen allegedly beheaded Colleen Hufford, 54, at the Vaughan Foods Facility in Oklahoma last week after he was fired. He will be charged with first-degree murder for her death and battery with a deadly weapon after he stabbed another man.
